What is Groups on TripConnect?

TripConnect allows you to increase your network of travel advisors by creating and joining groups. This allows people from the same high school or college class, members of a professional organization or association, or or any other group of individuals to share travel information with other members of the group. Groups can be formed for existing organizations, or you can create your own group.

Why Start a Group?

If you are the organizer or administrator of an existing group such as an alumni organization, starting a group on TripConnect can be a great benefit for your organization and for the members of your group. Think about it, your group probably shares an interest or passion for an activity. It's a natural extension to give members of your group a forum to compare notes on travel destinations and places to stay.

How much does it cost?

During our beta phase, forming a group on TripConnect is free of charge.

How do I start a group?

To create a group, you need to take three simple steps.
  1. Click here to create your group
  2. Set up your group page by clicking on the various options under ?Leader Tools?. .
  3. Invite members of your group to join. Once you have set up your group page, you can begin inviting members to join the group on TripConnect. TripConnect offers tools to make the process simple.

Can anyone join a group?

It?s up to you to make your group completely open or private. You can allow people to join without your approval, require that people request membership, or make it by invitation only. You can also decide whether your group is listed in the group directory.

What do members a group see once they've joined?

Each group gets a dedicated page on TripConnect, either open to all or accessible to members only. On this page, will be featured your description of the group, a picture or group logo if you choose to upload one. . You can also include a link to an external web site and a link to contact you as the group leader.

The group page will also feature a directory of members who have joined, a list of the most popular destinations of members of the group. As group leader you can choose to show reviews and articles that contain content themes relevant to your group, or just show reviews written by members of the group.

How do members access the group page?

As the group leader, you can control who has access to the full group page. If you list the group in the directory, people will be able to find it that way. If you make it an open group, people will have access to the full content of the group pages. If you make it a members only or private group, then viewing the content will be restricted to members only. Once members join the group, they will see a link to the group page under ?My Groups?

Can members of the group communicate with each other on TripConnect?

Yes. Group members can send messages to one another, and also direct questions to the entire group.
