We just returned from spending a fabulous week up the coast where we rented a timeshare at the Marriott Newport Coast Villas (through http://www.redweek.com). It was an easy drive from where we live in San Diego, but we felt like we'd gone a world away. The Villas resort is built on a cliff with the most spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean, and gorgeous sunsets every night. The resort itself had so much to offer that we basically just stayed local. However, we did venture up to Newport Beach where we attended the "Pacific Symphony Presents Halloween Spooktacular" concert. It was So much fun! When we bought the tickets we found out that people were encouraged to wear Halloween costumes. Since we hadn't planned on this, we improvised by creating what we could with what we'd brought, and supplementing with what we could find at the Villa's on-sight convenience store. We laughed 'till we were silly! This fun and relaxing stay at a wonderful resort was just what we needed.
