If it weren’t for the amazing Jesuit ruins, there’d be absolutely no reason to visit Trinidad. Stretched out alongside the highway which leads from Encarnacion to Ciudad del Este, it consists of less than a hundred buildings…most of which are in some state of disrepair. Bus drivers will happily drop you off here, but you may well have to remind them to do so…it’s a ‘blink and you miss it’ kind of place! The landscape in these parts is pretty, if not spectacular.
