I recently climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro with a close college friend as part of a 10-12 person Outward Bound-affiliated group. Had wanted to do this for some time. My two core observations are (admitting to being 40-something and in reasonable shape): 1) it's a harder climb than people had told me, and 2) it was a more exhilarating experience than I could have imagined.
