Lucerne-- it's quaint, charming, and home of some of the world's best chocolate. Surrounded by natural beauty and nestled near the Alps, it's the perfect quiet hideaway. I visited in July, but Lucerne seems to be great year round since you can ski in the winter and hike in the spring and summer.
The town is small and can easily be traversed on foot. Make sure to take a walk across the beautiful Medievil wooden footbridge that goes across the river in the center of town.
