Segovia is not too far outside Madrid and my understanding is that it's kind of a local vacation spot. Because of this, we decided to head there by train to get away from the non-local tourists. We were pleasantly surprised at how much there was to do and how much we enjoyed it. We don't speak spanish, which was a little tricky being away from the big cities, but we got by.
