If you come from a big city, downtown Charlotte will seem small by comparison. However, there is really a lot to do and see. Downtown has been in the past deserted after 5 pm. But with new residential towers built, Panthers stadium, and a new NBA stadium downtown about to built things are getting livelier, There is first rate dining downtown and a number of bars packed with workers from the headquarters of two of the nations largest banks, bank of America and Wachovia.
