Marrakech is a beautiful city, basically an oasis with irrigation added centuries ago. Its medina (old walled town including many craft and sales activities in the souks), is surrounded by luxuriant gardens and the city boasts beautiful mosques, palaces, tombs, an ancient medersa (university) which you can visit, a classically beautiful minaret (among many others), a very unusual central square, and good hotels, restaurants, and shops.
