Volubilis, a UNESCO site, is nicely situated in scenic hills, and is near Meknes and in view of the holy town of Moulay Idris. It is about the size of Georgetown in DC and presents a compact view of a Roman town. It has benefited from archeological work and restoration largely caried out by the French.
