Almost all visitors to Amboseli go to see elephants or giraffes grazing with the great mountain as a backdrop. We arrived in a very light aircraft, and Kili, or White Cap, as it is nicknamed was obscured by clouds. Instead we had to settle for an aerial view of elephants shoulder deep in a swamp that is caused by the perennial spring which is the lifeblood of Amboseli.
Most of the valley was dry and parched, hardly a suitable home to the large quantities of game which occupied it. "Two weeks
