The Mayan ruins at Tikal are among the most important and significant in the Classic Mayan world. There are several large temples that have at least been partially restored. Many of them allow tourists to climb to the top. It should be noted, however, that the stairs to the top of some of the temples don't necessarily comply with US or Western safety standards.
