On a road trip of the South of France, Calvisson is a convenient village to use as a base while you're seeing the surrounding area- ie, visiting the city of Nimes and getting a tour of the interesting Chateau Villevielle.
Note that the village itself is small, has few people, and really no nightlife. It does however have a great bed and breakfast, a great low-key restaurant that serves dinner-crepes and dessert-crepes, and is on a bus route to Nimes.
