Chamonix is one of the few places I've visited where there is so much mountain. You can ski it, climb it, or just sit in the town centre with a glass of your favourite tipple and look at it. In summer it's a magnet for trekkers, hikers, rock climbers and tourists wanting to get that mountain experience.
