If you're looking for a destination where all that's on your agenda is to RELAX, then this is the place to go. Unlike some other parts of DR, Puerto Plata is more relaxing and not much going on. I went in January and the weather wasn't the best; it was definitely beach weather but the water was a little cold and the sun would only peek out a few times. I heard it was pretty dangerous to leave the hotel area so I would recommend the same for others. Not a bad trip but I would recommend Punta  more...
