Travelling through Central Europe, one learns the general formula, with some variations, for the major cities: for Budapest, Vienna, Dresden (not Berlin), Krakow, Bratislava, and Prague. Some river divides the city. On one side, you'll find the "old town" area close to the water. The road gradually winds its way up to a castle or fortress that sits above the water, overlooking the city. Tourist shops all along the way.
