Old American cars are as much a part of the lyrical Cuban landscapes as are images of Fidel and Che. In the 1950s, Havana bought more Cadillacs than any other city in the world. They’re still there, rumbling down the road to the rhythm of the rumba on the radio.
Studebakers are a dime a dozen. Kaisers, Hudsons, Edsels – remember those? – pose on every other block. In certain areas you rarely see a vehicle that isn’t a pre-revolutionary classic. Reason enough to visit.
