La Paz is a love or hate kind of place, but luckily I love it. It’s the highest capital city in the world (3400m) and sits in a spectacular cradle surrounded by 6000m peaks. Just be warned that altitude may well be a problem if you arrive from the lowlands, so don’t over exert yourself and drink lots of water.
