In Brussels (where I lived for 5 years) I recommend the Hotel Amigo. It is small, tastefully done and a regular favorite of several people I know, all of whom have said Belgium, land of beers, and in general excellent food, hhas many excellent destinations, and due to the small distances, many of them can be day trips from central Brussels.
