While Lovina in the North isn't a typical stop for most Bali travelers, the Damai Villas should be a destination of it's own. It's the only entirely self-sustaining hotel in Bali. Everything from the food, to the decor is made on the premises. The villa decor is outsourced only to Lovina locals. The shampoos and soaps are recipes from the manager himself. Most activities are free of charge including, fruit carving, Balinese painting, market tours and cooking classes. Outdoor showers and pool nested in the mountains allows you to watch the sun set while relaxing poolside with only the sounds of wildlife in the background. This is not a spot to be missed.

Since Conde Nast Traveler recently rated this hotel as the best in the world I wouldn't dare go against the grain. This hotel is amazing! Even the smallest rooms have two outdoor spaces in what was close to 1200 sq feet. You can also rent private villa's with your own swimming pool spilling out into views of the Bali mountains.
