This is an amazing hostel in the north of Berlin, the people working there are friendly and helpful, the prices for rooms are very reasonable for their quality and there is a private bar on the roof (the Wombar) which is a nice place to start the evening where you can meet fellow travelers. The hostel is situated a five minutes walk from Alexanderplatz's shopping complex and station so getting about is easy. Also a minute down the main road is a supermarket which sells good food at good prices and cheap beer (although most beer in Berlin is cheap). There are a few pubs and bars in the immediate area and there are loads of areas within a ten minute walk with many more as well as good restaurants and one or two clubs. If it's your thing ask in the hostel for information on the local pub crawls as they are a great way to find bars when your first visiting.
