About explorer: I like to do two or three extended trips a year and prefer to stay in B & B's or farmsteads. Don't really enjoy "today is Tuesday, so this must be Siena" kind of travel. I may choose one or two places to bed down per trip and then do my thing from there -- embedding myself within the local culture as much as I can.
